This holiday, the Davidsons are set to welcome another into the family. My daughter should be born, literally, any day now, and that means I’m back to a few months of sleepless nights before she settles into a solid routine.
This will be my second kid. If my first was any indication, the no sleep thing is as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Which brings me to what I’m thankful for: portable gaming devices. Yes, while my newborn decides that she’s not content fed, changed and warm, it’s up to me to rock her to sleep. For the first 20 minutes or so, it’s cool. Any parent knows, though, that once the kid is asleep, it can be tough to transition them off of your chest and into a crib.
With Connor (my first), I’d plop down on the rocker, wait for him to fall asleep, mute my DS and pass the half hour that way. It’s much better than staring off into darkness at three o’clock in the morning, trust me.
