HTC on Wednesday revealed owners of the unlocked HTC One M8 will get a nice treat later this week.
According to Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, Android Marshmallow should begin rolling out within the next 24 hours, giving M8 owners the chance to experience what the 6.0 update has to offer. (In case you haven’t used Marshmallow yet, it’s easily Google’s best update; you’re going to love it.)
Now it’s just a waiting game for One M8 owners. HTC is pretty familiar with the Marshmallow update having delivered it to One A9 owners out of the box. And according to Versi, an update to the M9 should hit soon, too, though more testing needs to be done. Likewise, Versi also said that HTC is working with carriers to push out updates to devices on AT&T, T-Mobile and others.
Marshmallow has been generally available since early October, but companies typically try and get updates out within a 90-day span. An earlier rumor claimed HTC would be introducing the latest version of Android to almost 20 different devices, including the One M9, One M9 Plus, and Desire EYE, among others.
